Rosemary Lloyd

KRC is thrilled to have Rosemary back on the committee and taking on her old role of Chair, and running the Evening Dressage League. Rosemary trained at Agricultural College and worked variously in racing,  farming, stud and showing, as well as hunting enthusiastically, After helping her daughter with ponies kept at Keysoe, the last horse was a Belgian Warmblood, a retired show jumper which she started off sharing with her daughter but later Holly became Rosemary’s, which is probably when long-standing members will remember her from.
One of the very early members of KRC, Rosemary quickly became Secretary, including bookings and membership, also helping to run the Summer Shows. Later she became Chairman for some years, whilst also working for Simon Bates for eight years in the College office. Sadly she lost Holly some four years ago, and having promised her long-suffering husband that this would definitely be the very last horse, is now a strictly non-riding member. Rosemary is looking forward to a busy and successful year for KRC as its Chair and to meeting as many members as possible, re-establishing past friendships and making new ones along the way.

Clinics Organiser

I have been on the RC committee for the last 5 years dealing with training and both dressage and SJ teams. I have one horse Kimoni or Moni to his friends, we enjoy SJ, Dressage lessons as well as  exploring the countryside on horseback. When I'm not riding I'm walking my dogs or competing in dog agility as well as hitting the Gym.

Hope to see lots of you out and about!

Susan Walls

Juniors Manager & Newsletters

My son Dan (aged 15) joined the club last year and has thoroughly enjoyed attending lessons and camp. Everyone has welcomed him so warmly into the club and by way of thanking the club on his behalf for everything he gets out of being a member, I joined the committee this year.

I’ll be working on producing newsletters and would also like to be involved with developing our juniors. It’s a very busy riding club and as such can be difficult keeping up to date with everything that’s going on. If you have any suggestions or feedback on how we can improve this, then please let me know.

I have been a member of KRC for 7 years and have been on the committee for three. I started riding late in life had never sat on a horse until I was 50 years young. I am a livestock farmer and married to Monica.

I ride a chestnut mare, Ruby, and have had a good year with her winning the show jumping league. First time this year cross country coming 2nd in the 70cm grassroots eventer trail and coming 3rd as a team in the arena eventing.

Training Co-ordinator

This is my third year as Secretary to the Riding Club and co-ordinating regular weekday training.
I currently own four horses although fortunately two are out on loan. I bred the two that I am currently responsible for: Harvey is a very handsome boy, an Irish Cob/Irish Draught/Hackney. We enjoy hacking, flatwork and compete at low-key unaffiliated dressage competitions.

Apart from horses I have two dogs, three cats, three guinea pigs and a rabbit, a husband and three grown up children.

I love all disciplines so eventing does it for me! Nesbit is my super spotty ISH. I hope to continue eventing with him this season and improve our dressage scores! I am looking forward to enjoying lots of BRC & KRC activities this year and spending time with new and old friends.

I share my home with a husband and 3 hounds. When not doing horsey things, I am thinking about horsey things.

Freya Peverell

Social Secretary

& Camp Co-ordinator

This is my first year on the KRC committee and I’m looking forward to contributing new ideas and supporting existing committee members. I’ll be taking on the role of social sec, organising summer camp (ideas welcome!) and doing the back room crunching of numbers for the Leagues. I have my own lovely mare Lyric who I compete to BE Novice and hope to do some internationals with in the future. This year I had the honour of representing KRC at the Eventing National Championships where we finished 3rd! When not riding I’m a BSc Agribusiness student at the University of Nottingham.

Katy Evans

I joined the KRC committee in 2015 and have been a member since shortly after KRC was formed. Although I currently do not own my own horse, having had children and a lot of bad luck, I ride for lovely owners and am representing the club at many competitions.

My passion is eventing and dressage but I just really love helping horses learn. If I have the time I am always happy to help.

Victoria Newitt

Teams Manager

I am a keen supporter of British Riding Club events and will be looking to represent Keysoe again as much as possible.  The opportunities to compete and improve are second to none and I would encourage members to get involved in their

discipline of choice.

I own three horses, one retired and two that I compete – Buddy a 17.1 TB gelding who I have had 18 months and the most lovely horse.  He came straight out of a P2P yard and has developed into a great all-rounder.

As well as being a trainer I breed competition horses and also manage a livery yard.

I have produced my own horses to compete regionally at Prix St George and Medium, and nationally at Elementary and Advanced Medium level.  I run a successful livery yard and teach locally to my base in Cambridgeshire.  Many of my clients have gone on to successfully compete regionally at affiliated competitions.

I own 2 horses Billy 15.2hh 12yrs old and Mickey 14hh 10yrs old. Owned them since young foals and produced them myself to be able to turn their hoof to anything. I enjoy attending training sessions and trying to improve myself and my horses. I also compete regularly in a variety of disciplines and compete at most Area competitions. I have joined the committee to offer my support to the club in any way I can.
